Kyocera PCB (once known as Kyocera Tycom) high performance Carbide Micro Drills - Series 100
The Kyocera series 100 micro-drills are specifically engineered for the printed circuit board (PCB) and electronics manufacturing industries. This series is known for its non-undercut design, which provides the rigidity necessary for high-accuracy drilling.
Key features and benefits
- Precision Geometry: Features a 130° point angle designed to minimize entry burrs and improve centering, critical for small diameter hole location
- Sub-Micron Grain Carbide: Manufactured from high-grade carbide for superior wear resistance and long tool life.
- Extended Flute Lengths: Designed for improved utilization, to drill deeper holes while maintaining location accuracy
- Mirror Surface Finishes: The flutes are polished to a mirror finish to ensure superior ship evacuation and reduce the risk of tool breakage and heat buildup.
- Industry standard 1/8" shank (3.18mm) and 1.50" overall length
- 2 flute design
- Collet locating rings (when installed) to aid in tool change - standard set at .800" +/- .003" from the back to the ring to the tip of the tool
Applications and Materials
-
Electronics: Drilling high-density interconnect (HSI) printed circuit boards and flex circuits
-
Medical and Aerospace: Creates tiny precision holes in instrumentation and implants
- General Micro-Machining: Effective for drilling plastics, fiberglass, wood, and non-ferrous materials like aluminum and brass (best when used with cutting fluids)
The “rules of the tools” apply. What this means is that all unused tools can be returned for a full refund (minus freight), no questions asked.
